One of the most unique voices in Jazz, Charlotte’s passion for music started early learning her craft in renowned Jazz venues such as the Old Duke in her home town of Bristol. While also listening to artists such as Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan and Harry Connick Jnr , Charlotte soon developed her signature vocal style that has captured the ears and hearts of so many.
At the tender age of 18 Charlotte was asked to perform on BBC1′s ‘The Next Big Thing’ where she caught the eye of a American music producer Edward Shanaphey. Ed signed Charlotte and produced her album ‘Charlotte Cameron’ which received extensive radio airplay most notably on BBC Radio 2. After the album Charlotte was keen to hone her vocal ability further and studied at the ‘Brighton Institute of Modern Music’. It was here that Charlotte had the opportunity to work with successful musicians such as Carleen Anderson ( The Brand New Heavies), Jon Stewart ( Sleeper ) and Paul Roberts ( The Stranglers).
Charlotte later formed her band ‘The Charlotte Cameron Band’ and played venues in Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
Following this, Charlotte has gone onto perform at many notable Jazz venues including ‘Pizza on the Park’, ‘Pizza Express’, ‘The Pigalle Club’, ‘The Old Duke’ and ‘Luc’s Brasserie’ with her band. As well as performing with her band Charlotte also performs as a session vocalist.
